Toronto's iconic new subway bridge just crossed a huge milestone
Sections of the DVP and Gardiner were closed from Friday, Jan. 30, at 11 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 2, at 5 a.m. to accommodate critical construction work for the new Lower Don Bridge that will carry Ontario Line trains across the Don River and adjacent highway lanes.

The journey behind the Port Lands bridges
he four new bridges at the Port Lands in Toronto were an engineering feat and all were installed using different methods and techniques. The bridges are part of the Port Lands Flood Protection Project, led by Waterfront Toronto, which created a new mouth for the Don River in the middle of the Port Lands between the Ship Channel and the Keating Channel, as well as the foundations of a new urban island, Villiers Island.
