After 18 years of work, Toronto's Port Lands opens to the public!

This is a historic moment. The Toronto Port Lands project was one of the largest in terms of re-naturalization of an industrialized landscape, and in terms of flood prevention. Now open to the public, Port Lands provide lush public green spaces, parks, and wetlands to the residents of downtown Toronto.

Harbourside's contribution to the project involved the transportation and erection of the now iconic Port Lands Bridges. These eye-catching structures were fabricated by Cherubini Bridges and Structures, right here in Halifax Nova Scotia. The bridges were then transported by barge all the way to Toronto's waterfront. The incredible engineering behind this feat has been recognized nationally for its ingenuity .

Port Lands Flood Protection and Redevelopment

Harbourside was retained to provide Erection and Fabrication Engineering and Quality Verification Engineering services. This was for the fabrication, transportation and erection of the steel arch Port Lands bridges. These would be transported by barge from Halifax, all the way to Toronto!
