Harbourside Wins OPWA Project of the Year Award at 2026 Luncheon
Harbourside Engineering, along with the City of Guelph, and Beton Construction, were awarded a 2025 Project of the Year Award for their work on the Boathouse Retaining Wall in Guelph, Ontario by the OPWA. The Award Luncheon happened on May 13th, 2026.
CANS 2026 Women in Construction Happy Hour
On March 5th, 2026, the Construction Association of Nova Scotia hosted an event at Nine Locks Brewery: The Women in Construction Happy Hour. Since Nine Locks is right next door to Harbourside’s Dartmouth office, how could we stay away?
Co-Op Interview with Aaron
We had the chance to interview Aaron about his time in co-op with our Geotechnical engineering division here at Harbourside. He and Kenneth are both in their fourth year of civil engineering at Dalhousie University. Here we get a chance to talk about what working in the lab has been like for Aaron, as well as his first foray into the field in Cape Breton.

Dexter Nova Alliance Honored with the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Engineering
Dexter Nova Alliance Team, which is made up of Dexter Construction, Nova Construction, WSP, Harbourside Engineering Group and the Department of Public Works has received the 2025 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Engineering.
Construction starts on new Lower Don Bridge for Ontario Line subway
Major construction has started on the new Lower Don Bridge that will carry Ontario Line trains across the Don River between the Corktown and Riverside communities. Harbourside Engineering has been acting as the specialist bridge engineer for this major project.
Harbourside Engineering acquires W S Langley Concrete & Materials Technology
Harbourside Engineering Group, recently expanded its capabilities with the acquisition of W S Langley Concrete & Materials Technology. The acquired company’s president, Wilbert ‘Wib’ S. Langley, P.Eng., has more than 50 years’ experience in concrete materials engineering. He has consulted for the Halifax Harbour Bridges, Confederation Bridge, Gordie Howe International Bridge, William R Bennett Bridge and Hoover Dam Bridge.
Second phase of Hwy 104 twinning now complete
The twinning project began with the construction of the two South River crossings — steel box girder designs, each on three piers. General contractor was Nova Construction Co. Ltd. of Antigonish and Harbourside Engineering was the designer.
