Highway 104 Twinning (Part 3)
Working as part of the Dexter Nova Alliance (DNA), Harbourside Engineering Group completed the design of all bridge structures, including inspection, rehabilitation, and replacement; geotechnical engineering design, soil testing, foundation testing, and inspection; and alignment and interchange designs.

McNamara Drive Roundabout Design
In 2018, the town of Paradise, Newfoundland, made considerable investments into improving its road networks. This investment required expertise in transportation engineering. The goal was to improve traffic flow throughout the town. As part of this initiative, a roundabout was planned for the intersection of Topsail Road and McNamara drive.
Paradise Intermediate School Roundabout Design
Harbourside provided the design of the new roundabout on McNamara Drive for the new Intermediate School in Paradise. The work not only included the upgrade to the intersection but also the access road and servicing to the new school.

Team Gushue Highway Interchange Study
Harbourside Transportation Consultants was retained by the NLDTW to complete a detailed traffic analysis to review the impact of recent and future development on the Team Gushue Highway.

Cornwall Interchange Design
In 2016, the Prince Edward Island Government requested funding from Ottawa to redirect the Trans-Canada Highway around the town of Cornwall. In the span of just 4 years (2009 to 2013), the area saw 159 collisions (none of them fatal). The project was to be completed in two phases. Enter Harbourside Transportation Consultants!

Galway Road Network Design
In 2015, Harbourside Transportation Consultants was hired to provide the consulting design services to assist with the creation of three multi-lane roundabouts. These were to be constructed in the Galway development in St. John’s. HTC’s scope of work as transportation engineers was for preliminary and detailed design of the three roundabouts and the roadway between roundabouts ‘A’ and ‘B’.

Bakers Brook Bridge Replacement Approach
In 2016, Harbourside Transportation Consultants designed the new approach for the replacement Bakers Brook Bridge in Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland. This was part of a series of sweeping bridge replacements undertaken by Harbourside Engineering Group for Parks Canada.
Rocky Barachois Bridge Replacement Approach
In 2016, Gros Morne continued its series of bridge replacement projects. This time, the focus was on the Rocky Barachois Bridge. Once again, Harbourside was contracted to provide detailed concept, design, and tender documents.
Deer Arm Brook Bridge Replacement Approach
In 2016, the Dear Arm Brook bridge was slotted for replacement. The existing conditions presented unfavourable turning radii and possible compound curvature that surprised westbound traffic.
MacKenzie River Bridge Replacement
Harbourside Transportation Consultants completed the design of the vertical and horizontal alignments, from initial concept layouts through to detailed design and tender, for the new approaches to the MacKenzie Bridge Replacement.
Blackmarsh Road Roundabout
In 2015, Harbourside Engineering Consultants did the detailed design on one of the first roundabouts in the city of St. John’s Newfoundland. Past planning by the City of St. John’s, with respect to the construction of the Team Gushue Highway, identified much needed infrastructure investments at nearby intersections.

Dicks Brook Bridge Replacement Approach
In 2014, Gros Morne National Park began the process of replacing the Dick’s Brook Bridge. This would be one of the first in a series of bridge replacements required by the famous park.

Highway 104 Twinning (Part 2)
As a part of a major initiative by NSTIR to twin Highway 104 through the town of Antigonish, Harbourside received the contract to design six major structures along the new alignment.

Highway 104 Twinning (Part 1)
The twinning of Highway 104 was a massive undertaking. Various projects were completed by an alliance of engineers and construction contractors working to modernize 63 km of critical highway infrastructure. As part of this monumental effort, Harbourside completed the design of the twin overpass structures at Trunk 7 intersection.

Larry Uteck Interchange
In response to the rapid growth of the both the Bedford South and the Bedford West communities, the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal sought to improve the interchange at Larry Uteck Boulevard between Exits 2 and 3. The project began in 2008, and the new interchange was opened in 2010.
