Cabot Shores: Malpeque Harbour Development
Lobster fishing and aquaculture vessels struggle daily to access Malpeque harbour in PEI. In 2019, a steering committee was formed to develop a long-term solution. The committee engaged Harbourside Engineering Consulting and MRSB Consulting Services Inc. to conduct an Economic Impact Study and New Wharf Design for Malpeque Harbour Authority.

Cornwall Interchange Design
In 2016, the Prince Edward Island Government requested funding from Ottawa to redirect the Trans-Canada Highway around the town of Cornwall. In the span of just 4 years (2009 to 2013), the area saw 159 collisions (none of them fatal). The project was to be completed in two phases. Enter Harbourside Transportation Consultants!

Souris Marine Terminal
In 2012, the Souris Harbour Authority required engineering consultations and analysis services. The goal was to evaluate the operations and conditions surrounding the Souris Marine Terminal, and potential future upgrades to the facility.

Peake’s Quay Marina Retaining Wall Repairs
The Peake’s Quay Marina Retaining Wall was built in 1990 as a tied timber lagging retaining wall wharf structure. The wall consists of steel H‑piles spaced at 2.5 metre centres with tie‑backs to concrete Deadman anchors. HEC was approached by the Charlottetown Area Development Corporation (CADC) to provide repair details for the water side face of the piles.

Marie Bridge Alternate Design
The Marie Bridge, located in King’s County Prince Edward Island, is a bridge situated over a small watercourse feeding the St. Peter’s Bay.
Skinners Pond Breakwater Repairs
The bulkhead breakwater structure at the Skinners Pond facility had severely deteriorated by 2011. As such, Public Works and Government Services Canada were looking to have a concept developed and the detailed design caried out of the substantial repairs that were needed.

PEITIR Bridge Inspection Program
Since 2010, Harbourside Engineering Consultants has been an integral part of the PEI bridge inspection program. HEC is responsible for the detailed inspection of approximately 40 structures bi-annually for PEITIR.
Midgell Bridge Replacement
While working for another consultant, the Principals of Harbourside Engineering Consultants designed a replacement bridge over the Midgell River. The bridge is located on the busiest highway on Prince Edward Island.
