MacKay and Macdonald Bridges: Forensic Investigation and Rehabilitation of Concrete Foundations
The two bridges spanning Halifax Harbour, the Macdonald and the Mackay Bridges, are some of the busiest sections of roadway in the province. As such, their continued maintenance and upkeep is essential for transportation throughout the region.

Barrack Point Potash Terminal Facility Condition Assessment
Harbourside was engaged by the Port of Saint John to assess the Barrack Point Potash Terminal Facility’s infrastructure at the Port in Saint John, New Brunswick. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the condition of the structures throughout the facility and estimate their remaining service life.

Cabot Shores: Malpeque Harbour Development
Lobster fishing and aquaculture vessels struggle daily to access Malpeque harbour in PEI. In 2019, a steering committee was formed to develop a long-term solution. The committee engaged Harbourside Engineering Consulting and MRSB Consulting Services Inc. to conduct an Economic Impact Study and New Wharf Design for Malpeque Harbour Authority.

Highway 104 Twinning (Part 3)
Working as part of the Dexter Nova Alliance (DNA), Harbourside Engineering Group completed the design of all bridge structures, including inspection, rehabilitation, and replacement; geotechnical engineering design, soil testing, foundation testing, and inspection; and alignment and interchange designs.

Université Sainte-Anne Track and Field Facility
Harbourside was retained by Tate Engineering as part of the design of Université Sainte-Anne track and field facility. This was for their client Municipality of the District of Clare. As a major university, and the only francophone university in Nova Scotia, this project represented an important cultural objective.

Canada Border Services Agency Warehouse
In 2020 Harbourside carried out a geotechnical investigation to aid with design and construction of the new container examination facility. Later, Harbourside would also be contracted to undertake the design, paving, and marking of the lot surrounding the facility.

Pier C Terminal Expansion
From 2018 to 2020, Harbourside provided geotechnical and site services to the Halifax Port Authority related to the construction of the Pier C Extension for the Port of Halifax’s South End Container Terminal in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Highway 104 Twinning (Part 2)
As a part of a major initiative by NSTIR to twin Highway 104 through the town of Antigonish, Harbourside received the contract to design six major structures along the new alignment.
