Mark Stuckless wins ACEC Newfoundland Award of Service
A senior partner with Harbourside Transportation Consultants was selected to receive the ACEC NL Award of Service in June 2026.
Earlier this year, Caryn Gunter emailed Mark Stuckless and said "we would like to recognize you at the 2026 Association of Consulting Engineering Companies Newfoundland (ACEC-NL) Awards Ceremony. Your dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts have made a lasting and meaningful impact, helping to strengthen and advance the mandate of the association".
Mark jokingly asked... "you talking to me ??!!"
But she did indeed have the right Mark Stuckless.
Mark Stuckless is a professional engineer with over 25 years (or a quarter century, if you’d prefer) of experience in municipal engineering, traffic operations, transportation planning, hydrology and research/development. After spending just over 12 years working in various roles with municipal governments, focusing on traffic operations and civil infrastructure, Mark turned to the “Dark Side” and embraced a career in consulting (Hopefully he has not questioned too many of his life choices). He is now a Senior Engineer and Principal with Harbourside Transportation Consultants, the transportation division of the Harbourside Engineering Group.
Apart from serving on ACEC-NL’s board, Mark has also served as chair of PEGNLs former Eastern Chapter (now Connections East) and has served on various Transportation Association of Canada committees.
Mark, and has wife Susan, have two university aged “children” - who want nothing to do with engineering seeing all their dad does is “talk to people on the phone and ‘facetime’ (aka Microsoft Teams) and complain about time sheets!”. It’s true, Mark really does dislike time sheets! Now that he’s on the ‘Freedom 85’ retirement plan though, he anticipates a few more years of having to do them!
Mark is humbled and grateful for this recognition by the Board. He currently works from the Harbourside Engineering office located in St. John’s Newfoundland.
