Harbourside Survivor 2025: Week 1

For the past several years, Harbourside Engineering Group has had a very special tradition: Harbourside Survivor. This is thanks (in no small part) to certain team members being completely enamored by the reality TV show of the same name who are willing to organize a company-wide social event.

The Harbourside Survivor Immunity token hangs above the white board in the kitchen. This week it was awarded to the Green Team.

What is Harbourside Survivor?

Harbourside Survivor is the competition of the year. It’s a social event not to be missed! It’s our corporate culture. It’s our way of life. It’s a drama, complete with secret alliances and subterfuge!

BUT MOSTLY: it’s a way for our many different companies to get to know each other.

The exact format changes year-over-year, but the principal remains the same: employees from across the different Harbourside divisions sign up to compete in various skill-testing challenges once a week. These challenges happen right up until the Holidays. Depending on who wins these challenges, people either proceed to the next week, or are “voted off the island”.

Don’t worry, if you’ve ever watched reality T.V. you know they’ll be back at the end!

Three Teams Enter…

To prevent any easy alliances within the different branches, participants have been broken up into three mixed teams.: the Reds, the Greens, and the Blues. These teams will persist until the number of participants has been reduced…then it’s a free-for-all!

This Week’s Challenge: Candy Counting

A jar of suspicious candy appeared in the lunchroom, coinciding with our quarterly Harbour-snacks event. This jar had a very serious note written upon it: DO NOT EAT ME (YET).

Each participant had to guess the amount of candy contained within, then the team with the closest average would be declared the winner. It did not take long to declare a victor…

The Greens took the immunity this week, meaning both Red and Blue teams will have to vote someone off the Island!

We’d like to extend a special “thank you” to Dani Suart, and Nicholas Treadwell for their service in organizing and coordinating everything (We know everyone is very busy. Your work is appreciated).
