  • We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant with a focus on project accounting to join our team. You will play a key role in the financial management of projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial services.

    The Harbourside Group of Companies, comprised of Harbourside Engineering Consultants, Harbourside Transportation Consultants, Harbourside Geotechnical Consultants, and Harbourside Project Management, is a full service heavy civil infrastructure design firm with office locations in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Stoney Creek, Ontario.

    As one of Atlantic Canada’s fastest-growing and highly respected engineering firms, Harbourside is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and contribute to our expanding multi-company operations. This accounting role offers the flexibility to work from either our Charlottetown, PEI or Dartmouth, NS office, supporting operations across all our office locations.

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Managing the financial aspects of projects, including project setup, invoicing, and project closure.

    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal business partners, including Project Managers and Finance teams.

    • Work closely with other Project Accountants, Finance Managers, and Project Managers to ensure collaborative teamwork and efficient financial processes.

    • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as directed by management.

    • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or related field.

    • CPA designation is considered an asset.

    • 2-4 years of related experience in accounting.

    • General accounting knowledge obtained through experience and/or education.

    • Must be organized, willing to adapt to change, and possess strong attention to detail.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify potential implications of actions.

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year.

    Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday
