Carter’s Point Wharf 410 Reconstruction
Carters Point Wharf was an existing creosote timber crib structure that was deteriorated and require replacement. Harbourside Engineering was hired by DFO Small Craft Harbours to design the demolition and reconstruction work.
Pointe-Sapin Shore Protection
Structures at the Pointe-Sapin wharf were deteriorated and required repairs or replacement to ensure safe passage and use of this harbour. Harbourside was hired by DFO SCH to develop a tender package to rehabilitate and extend the life of these structures, while protecting the ecologically sensitive areas around the harbour.
Petit Cap Wharf Reconstruction and Expansion
Small craft harbours are the heart of the Maritimes. In 2021, Harbourside was hired by DFO Small Craft Harbours through a Standing Offer to develop two separate tender packages. These were created in order to design and replace the existing marginal wharf structure for the Petit-Cap Harbour, New Brunswick.
Botsford Launching Ramp Replacement
Botsford wharf is a fisheries harbour located in Murray Corner, New Brunswick. Harbourside Engineering Consultants was hired by DFO Small Craft Harbours to design a replacement for the existing launching ramp which was deteriorated and considered unsafe for use.
Little Harbour (L’Ardoise) Reconstruction
Little Harbour (L’Ardoise) is in Richmond County, NS. This core fishing harbour generally serves up to 25 commercial fishing vessels. Harbourside has provided engineering design and construction services for a number of projects in this harbour, but this project was focused on reconstruction of the Berlin-wall marginal wharf, on the west side of the harbour.
Saint-Édouard-De-Kent Containment Cell
Due to environmental requirements, a new containment cell for dredge spoils was needed at the Saint-Édouard-de-Kent Harbour in Kent County, New Brunswick. Public Services and Procurement and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Small Craft Harbours, retained Harbourside Engineering for this project in 2021.
Port of Charlottetown Cruise Berth Expansion
Amongst many marine projects successfully completed by the team over the past 5 years, the work at the Port Charlottetown is arguably the most well rounded civil marine project that showcases the team’s exceptional experience in assessment, design, project management, and construction of marine works.
Little Liscomb Wharf Reconstruction
The existing wharf at Little Liscomb was a partially demolished creosote timber structure. Harbourside was engaged by DFO to encapsulate the wharf in a new Berlin Wall structure with raised elevation and wider deck.
Hall’s Harbour Wharf Replacement
Harbourside Engineering Consultants was hired to design a replacement structure for Hall’s Harbour wharf: a ground-out fishing wharf that is also heavily used by tourists during the summer and fall. Hall’s Harbour is also a popular location for observing tidal changes of the Bay of Fundy. Due to structural conditions, the existing wharf at this facility was considered unsafe for use.
Legion Road and Lawrence Pond Road Upgrades
The Town of Conception Bay South had identified the need to improve its road network through two road upgrades, Legion Road and Lawrence Pond Road.
